Limericks Competition

The dictionary describes a Limerick as a five lined nonsense verse with rhyme pattern.
In the example below the author has tried to re-create this but
- can you do better?

There was a young angler of Worthing,
Who dug up ten worms and a fur thing;
He said: "How I wish
Eleven fine fish
Would snap up these things I'm unearthing."

Five prizes, each of £10, are on offer for the five best works and a booklet containing these and the best of the rest will be published after the closing date.

Entry fees of 25p (50cents) each, five for £1 (US$2) or 12 for £2 (US$5) should accompany all submissions and all Cheques/POs (sterling only) should be payable to "WORDS" and sent to:
